What's here at Norwich Castle

Construction work on the Norwich Castle: Royal Palace Reborn project is complete. We are thrilled to announce that Norwich Castle Keep will reopen to the public on Thursday 7 August.

Until then, the Castle Keep - including the battlements - will remain closed. The team is preparing the spaces for welcoming visitors.

For a full list of which galleries are currently open to visitors check what's open before you visit.

The Norwich Castle site contains:

  • The 900-year-old Castle Keep (closed until Thursday 7 August)
  • A large gallery complex converted from the city's Victorian prison. This remains open.

It is home to internationally important collections in:

  • Archaeology
  • Natural history
  • Regimental history
  • Fine, decorative and contemporary art
