Dungeon Tours

Guided dungeon tours run throughout the day during opening hours. You do not need to purchase a general admission ticket to go on a dungeon tour.

Tours start at 10.30am, 11.30am, 12.30pm, 2.30pm, 3.30pm and 4.10pm.

Tickets

Tickets are available at the front desk:

• £2.50 - Norfolk Museums Pass holders
• £4.50 - All other visitors

Please note the dungeons can only be visited as part of a guided tour. Speak to a member of staff at the ticket desk to book your place. Tour tickets cannot be booked in advance, but on arrival you can book any available timeslot for the same day. Tickets are available on a first come first served basis and last approx. 30 minutes. Due to the subject matter, tours are only suitable for those 10 years old and above.

Access information

The historic nature of the spaces explored in the tour means that for those with additional access requirements the following must be considered:

• The only entry to the dungeons is via a flight of steps. There are fifteen steps with a hand rail either side that lead to the entrance to the dungeons. There are a further two steps without a hand rail to enter the dungeons. Within the dungeons there is a flight of stairs made up of five steps with a hand rail on one side, followed by one step with no hand rail.
• The floor throughout the dungeons is uneven.
• There is lighting throughout the dungeons but at a low level in some areas. The lights are briefly turned off as part of the tour, but when and where will be clearly communicated by the guide.
• A companion carer can accompany you on the tour without purchasing a ticket, however this will contribute to the total allowed people on a tour of 10, so if a tour is nearly full and you require a companion you will have to book on a later tour that has enough capacity.
