Visit us for immersive museum-based events in which you'll meet different characters and take part in a range of activities.

Life in a Castle KS1

10am until 2pm, £6 per child (£6.50 from 1 September 2026), max 60 children (for groups of up to 90 we can run the led sessions twice in a day), minimum fee £240 per day (£260 from 1 September 2026)

Immerse your class in the life of a medieval castle. The king is coming to visit and there's lots to do. Three costumed characters have prepared a gift for the king - but the present has disappeared! Take part in storytelling, play games, get hands-on with replica medieval objects and try your hand at setting the table in the Great Hall. Can you help our characters find the missing gift?

Facilitated sessions run in the morning. In the afternoon go on a self-led journey as you explore the battlements (weather permitting) and the king's bestiary (our Natural History galleries!).

Magical Creatures KS1/KS2 Literacy

1.5 hours, £4 per pupil (£4.50 from 1 September 2026), max 30 pupils, minimum fee £80 (£90 from 1 September 2026)

Free for pre-booked term-time visits by schools in Norfolk; £2.40 per pupil for pre-booked term-time visits by schools outside Norfolk (under-4s free). Max 60 pupils, subject to availability. Accompanying adults free in a reasonable ratio.
