KS2 Crime and Punishment

Maximum group size 60, £6 per pupil (£6.50 from 1 September 2026), minimum fee £240 (£260 from 1 September 2026), 10am until 2pm.

The event

Meet a prisoner from the Castle's past and learn about Norwich Castle's centuries as a county gaol. Tour the dungeons, take part in a crime scene investigation (CSI) session and enact a mock trial in our 19th-century courtroom.

Aims and learning outcomes

• 'Inspire pupils' curiosity about the past...whilst equipping them to ask perceptive questions, think critically, weigh evidence, sift arguments and develop perspective and judgement.' (History Programmes of Study 2014)
• To raise awareness of how we find out about the past.
• Engage children with museum objects as sources of inspiration, knowledge and exploration.
• Expand children's understanding of the changes in crime and punishment from the Anglo-Saxon period to the modern day.
