How to get to Norwich Castle

Address: Norwich Castle Museum & Art Gallery, Castle Hill, Norwich, NR1 3JU

Location: Norwich Castle is on Castle mound in the centre of Norwich.

Access during building works

Visitor routes to the Castle have changed because of the building work for our major redevelopment project.

From Castle Meadow, look out for the blue hoardings and the entrance sign next door to Castle Quarter. Follow the colourful characters to the lift or steps. They will take you to the main entrance on top of the mound.

By bus

Norwich Park & Ride buses stop at Castle Meadow, which is next to the museum.

Local buses also stop at Castle Meadow. For links to Norfolk's bus operators, timetables, and journey planner visit the Norfolk County Council website.

By rail

The museum is about a ten-minute walk from Norwich railway station.

By car

There is no car park at Norwich Castle. There is no Blue Badge parking outside the museum because of the building work. We're sorry about this and we'll make it available again as soon as possible.

The closest car park is in the Castle Quarter shopping centre next door.
