The Norman Castle
Take a trip to the heyday of Norman England and discover a palace built for a conquering King!
Norwich Castle was one of twelfth-century Europe's most important buildings. Commissioned by William the Conqueror, it was completed by his son, King Henry I.
Now the royal palace has been reborn. This is thanks to a multi-million-pound redevelopment supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players you can now explore the most accessible castle in Britain.
Step inside the mighty stone keep. You will experience the splendour of the building and those who lived here like never before.
